The success of last years Dragons Den Event, where Saddleworth Rotary Club granted £1500 to 6 local charities, has inspired the club to make this an annual event.

If you are a charity or local community organization based in the Oldham or Saddleworth area and are looking for funding then why not contact Saddleworth Rotary Club. They are organizing this year’s Dragons Den style evening at the White Hart, Lydgate on the 20 April, where representatives can put their case for funding to the club. If approved the funding will then be provided on the night.

So if you have a local project that needs some cash, and you think your powers of persuasion are good enough why not give it a try! Rotary’s very own panel of ‘Dragons’ from the local business community will consider the merits of each pitch. The most innovative will leave with some much needed funding. All those taking part will get the opportunity to explain their plans to a wider audience.

Rotary is a worldwide network of inspired women and men who translate their passions into relevant social causes, to change lives in communities.

Made up of over 1.2 million Rotary members – known as Rotarians – in 34,000 Rotary clubs in 200 countries and geographical areas around the world, Rotary International forms a global network of business, professional and community members who volunteer their time and talents to serve communities locally and around the world – and in the process form strong, lasting friendships in the process.

Saddleworth Rotary club is just one of the clubs. They raise money through their flagship event, The Saddleworth Show, and other smaller events. The monies raised then support needs throughout the borough of Saddleworth and Oldham as well as supporting Rotary International goals such as providing education to street children in Kenya.
