Saddleworth Show pulls in the crowds
Thousands of people visited the Saddleworth Show again today rounding off a glorious weekend for the event.
The hot sunny weather boosted crowds at the event which was held at Saddleworth School once again.
World champion snooker player, Steve Davies, was on hand to let visitors challenge him to a game of pool.
The school sports hall was filled with various stalls selling and promoting everything from photography to Keep fit. A number of craft stalls sold homemade cakes, candles and toys.
The father of murdered police officer PC Nicola Hughes, Bryn Hughes, had a stand to promote his charity marathon to the North Pole. Along with friends he hopes to raise money for other charities in the memory of Nicola.
Other charities at the show included Guide Dogs for the Blind and Cancer Research.
A display featuring birds of prey proved popular, with trainers showing the beauty and majesty of these fantastic birds. The display also included an American bald eagle and a vulture – all performed various tricks to amaze the spectators.
Children enjoyed themselves on the fun fair and other attractions. There was a small circus as well as donkey and llama rides.
Young people took part in a concert in the main hall and Dobcross Youth brass band performed at the event.
A wide range of refreshments were available throughout the day.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense would see the bins full and take there rubbish somewhere else.
It was also great to be performing there on the Saturday with delph youth and training bands.
