Saddleworth’s April Fools!

It’s another busy month ahead for Off The Rails Comedy Club, Saddleworth, when the upstairs function room of the Royal George, Greenfield will be playing host to no less than three shows!

Tickets are selling fast for  Friday 19th April when Friezland P.T.A.hold a  fundraiser. Described as ‘An improvisational genius’ by none other than Frankie Boyle, Scotland’s Raymond Mearn closes the show, with sterling support form Kevin Dewsbury and Will Mars. Compere is Rob Riley. Admission is £12 on the night or £10 in advance with the show starting at 8pm.

Alun Cochrane

Monday 22nd April sees TV regular Alun Cochrane combine forces with Canadian comic Glenn Wool and Oldham’s own Mick Ferry as they all try out new material for forthcoming shows.

Alun Cochrane is currently riding high on Radio 4 with his show ‘Alun Cochrane’s Fun House’ as well as regular appearances on ‘Just A Minute’ If you’rw fan of Saturday morning radio then you may know him as Frank Skinner’s sidekick on Absolute Radio. A long time favourite at Off The Rails his TV appearances include ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’, ‘Live At The Apollo’ and he regularly pops up on ‘8 Out of  10 Cats’ and  ‘Mock The Week’.

Glenn Wool is taking a night off from his current UK tour to test parts of his new show. A firm favourite at comedy festivals across the globe he’s best known to British audiences for Russell Howards Good News, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and 28 Acts in 28 Minutes. He’s also raved about by comedy critics with The Guardian saying, quite simply; ‘You have to go and see Glenn Wool’ .

Mick Ferry will be holding the two shows together with his usual mix of genial chat peppered with scalpel sharp off the cuff wit. Admission is £8 and advance tickets are advised. Doors 7.30pm Show 8pm.

Things return almost to normal on Sunday 28th April when self styled ‘rock and roll idiot ‘Duncan Oakley‘ returns with his unique brand of silliness and strumming. Jewish comic Josh Howie makes his OTR debut with his high brow yet near to the knuckle musings and London’s David Ward comperes. Admission is £8.
