Santa Dash through Uppermill for local charities

Reporter: Stuart Littleford

Over 100 paid up runners will be taking part in a Santa Dash along High Street, Uppermill on Saturday 5 December.

The event has been organised by Saddleworth Round Table as an extension to their Winter Wonderland event which takes place later the same day.

The Santa Dash is a 5km charity fun run through Uppermill village and Diggle.

The event should be quite a spectacle as the High Street is closed from 2pm for 10 minutes as the race procession passes from the Museum car park up the High Street to New Street, it then follows bridle paths and back roads over Running Hill before finishing in front of the Christmas tree in the village square.

Tickets can bought from Paul’s Quality Meats on High Street, Uppermill or online.

All profits go to local charities and good causes.

All are welcome!
