Scouthead And Austerlands Contest Under Threat

Saddleworth could lose one of its band contests this Whit Friday. There’s concern about the Scouthead and Austerlands contest because of the condition of the field where it’s been held for the past three decades.

Local organisers want Oldham Council to make good on a promise to bring Dawson’s Field back to a usable state, but warn that work must start soon for the event to take place as usual in May. You can read the full story at the Oldham Chronicle website here.
