Thank You To Our Advertisers

Three new advertisers began supporting Saddleworth News this week, so I think it’s high time I publicly thanked everyone who has done so since this site began at the start of the year. You can see all the ads on the right-hand side of every page of Saddleworth News, and you can get to their websites by clicking on the images.

Each of the advertisers pays £10 a month for a picture ad, and £5 for a text ad. Last month Saddleworth News had its highest number of readers yet, with almost 12,000. The figure for November is going to be even higher!

The first of the new advertisers is Oldham Community Leisure (left), which runs the pool and leisure centre in Uppermill. It’s offering a special deal to Saddleworth News readers – you can join for half price, get free passes for your friends and get a free personal training session. All you have to do is quote Saddleworth News Offer when signing up.

The next new supporter of the site is Hay Tarn Willwriting Services. A new company started in Diggle by Ray Withnall, it aims to help the two thirds of people who don’t yet have a will prepared. Ray is holding an open day at the Uppermill Conservative Club tomorrow between 11am and 4pm, where he’ll be available for an informal chat about drawing up a will.

The third new advertiser on Saddleworth News will be a familiar name to many of you. It’s the Around Saddleworth magazine, which has been going strong in the local area for two decades. The latest edition is available to pick up now for free at the usual locations throughout Saddleworth and the surrounding area.

They join some of the longer-standing advertisers who have been supporting Saddleworth News for some time. Among those is another local media publication, the Saddleworth Independent. Its new issue is also available to pick up for free at shops, pubs and other locations around Saddleworth right now.

There’s also Mossley Cracker, an innovative new business which produces environmentally-friendly fuel from local waste. Uppermill shop Pause A Second has been going for 14 years, and is open seven days a week selling great ranges of clothing, footwear and outerwear.

A much newer Uppermill shop, Countryside Kids, is on Court Street, and offers traditional toys and nursery items. It’s also got an offer for Saddleworth News readers. Simply quote this website when spending £50, and you’ll get £5 off.

Sugar Junction has been supporting the site for several months. It offers vintage-inspired events including tea parties, as well as amazing cakes. And last but not least, there’s the Dru Yoga class on Tuesday nights at Kilngreen Hall in Diggle. It begins at 7:15pm each week and everyone is welcome.

Thank you to all of these great local businesses for their support. I run Saddleworth News in my spare time, so every contribution helps make it easier to keep it going!
