Thieves Target Audis In Uppermill

Three Audi A4 cars were hit by thieves in Uppermill last Friday night into Saturday morning, according to an update from our local police officers.

In each case on the night of July 8 and 9, the central console including an integrated satnav/radio/CD system was taken.

Police have warned all drivers, and particularly owners of Audis, to make sure they park their vehicles in a secure place if possible, and to remove any valuables. All residents have also been reminded to be extra vigilant, and to report anything suspicious.

Meanwhile, in Delph last night, a white Transit van with the registration number MJ57 VBX was stolen, following a break-in at a property through what police described as an “insecure rear door.”

If you’ve got any information about any of the incidents you can ring the Saddleworth and Lees police team directly at the Uppermill office on 0161 856 4524.

The best number to use for out-of-hours calls is 0161 872 5050, but in an emergency, always dial 999.

You can get up-to-date information at our police team’s website here, and from the Twitter feed here.
