Two teachers on a gruelling mission
Two teachers, Mr Henley and Mr Casey, from St Anne’s Lydgate School, are taking on the gruelling task of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 7 October. They are aiming to raise £500 to help towards new sports equipment and supporting activities.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It involves 24 miles, heights of up to 1500m and all within 12 hours.
Mr Henley told Saddleworth News: “Lots of children and the community as a whole would appreciate all the support we can get.”
