Saddleworth news Greenfield’s Off The Rails Comedy Club has become a firm fixture in the local entertainment scene since starting out in 2001. The small, but perfectly formed comedy club has played host to the vast majority of big comedy names at some point or other. Jack Whitehall took some of his first, faltering steps there as did HBO star Jim Jefferies.

Someone who could be following in their esteemed footsteps is Elliot Steel. Although here for the first time and only in his twenties he has an impeccable comedy pedigree thanks to his father; comedian, writer and broadcaster, Mark. One important difference though is their politics;

“Your fight was against Thatcher and Blair and the Iraq War” he told his father in a joint interview in The Scotsman last year.“MyOff the rails comedy, Saddleworth News fight is with ‘social justice warriors’ who sit on the internet.”

Politics aside you can be sure that whatever Elliot chooses to discuss it’s going to be very funny indeed! The show is a fundraiser for St Thomas Moor side Scouts woho will be aiming to raise a thousand pounds with the help of Elliot, Vince Atta, Tamar Broadbent and MC Rob Riley.

Sunday 29th October promises to be an absolute scream with former circus acrobat Martin Mor introducing transvestite metal head and Jack The Ripper enthusiast Andrew O’Neill.
