UFO Seen Over Diggle

A UFO has been seen over Diggle. A man and his son reported seeing a bright orb in the sky above Warth Mill just after 10pm on Wednesday night.

The man, Mark, revealed the sighting in a comment on this website. He wrote: “My son and I were driving into Diggle along Huddersfield Road when we both witnessed a strange orange/yellow orb light moving very slowly left to right above the enterance to Warth Mill, which appeared not too high at all. It then changed direction and disappeared slowly into the night sky.”

Mark insisted what he saw could not have been a plane, helicopter or Chinese lantern. So, did you see the mysterious light in the sky? Do you know what caused it? Leave a comment below this article if so!

I saw it and dismissed it as a chineese lantern, it was over the new estate on the other side of the road at the time an I could quite clearly see the flicker of the flame…..

Yeah Im pretty sure I saw it too!!
My mate told me about it first and i thought he was bonkers, but then i saw it out the back of the mill, looking towards the canal and couldnt believe my eyes!!

Why isnt this story getting wide spread publicity?? no explanation for it!!

I used to live near Standedge and some 20 years ago two friends of mine (in their 40’s) were spooked by similar sightings. Though a very real phenomenon no explanation was available at the time. More recently I came across a possible explanation for this U.F.O.; it concerns the peculiar attribute of quartz crystals which store static electricity that can be discharged if struck sharply. A characteristic that has been exploited in the modern gaslighter.
The Pennine hills are often formed from Gritstone which contain large quantities of quartz pebbles. Subterranean landslips (which are not infrequent) could feasibly cause a large release of this static. When experienced in the right conditions e.g. misty/drizzly it might account for another phenomenon called “Ball lightening “, which behaves in a ‘ peculiar ‘ manner e.g.travelling horizontally, slowly then quickly, hovering and disappearing suddenly! It seems to me (and I am not a scientist) that if we put these two propositions together it might be the answer.

I filmed this that night and couldn’t make out wether it was a chinese lantern or something else, saying that 2 years ago I was up near standedge in the daytime when i large matt black cigar shaped object, a bit like acruise missile came past hugging the terrain making no noise and had no jets from the back, it had no windows or markings and no lights, i was gob smacked.

I stopped the car rang Manchester airport traffic control who told me nothing was on radar, I know what i saw and it was the strangest thing ever. Sky news did a bit on UFO’s and a pic that a guy drew ion 1962 of one going over London was the same as what I saw that day.

    Keep looking over those moors!
