Residents in Uppermill got together the other night to show true community spirit by helping to remove a large fallen tree on Ryefields Drive in the village.

The tree was toppled on Thurdsay night in the strong winds and heavy rain, it completely blocked the road to traffic and even pedestrians found it hard to get past.

Residents from the houses on Ryefields Drive worked together in the dark and wet conditions to saw up and remove the tree from the road.

Apologies for the quality of the photos.
