Want to learn how to write? New workshops at Emmaus

Cathy Crabb to host weekly writing group at Emmaus

Award-winning writer and performer, Cathy Crabb, is launching a weekly writing group at homelessness charity Emmaus Mossley, open to all ages and abilities.

The Emmaus Writing Circle will start on Saturday 23 June, from 10:30am to 12pm, and will run for eight weeks. The group is aimed at anyone looking to improve their creative writing skills and will be led by Saddleworth-based Cathy Crabb.

Cathy said: “Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a more experienced writer in search of inspiration, this weekly group will empower everyone to write with more creativity and confidence. We will do exercises to flex our creative muscles, learn from each other and discover new ways to capture real-life in words.”

Cathy has written over 20 plays including Beautiful House, Roots of Love, Fifteen Minutes With You, The Bubbler and Moving Pictures. Her plays, sketches and poetry have been performed at Contact, Theatre In the Mill, Royal Exchange, Lowry, and many site specific venues and pubs across the region.

Cathy added: “Maybe you haven’t written creatively for years or indeed ever! This will be a welcoming and engaging Saturday morning open to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. You can dip in and out of the sessions each week and there will be no pressure to share what you have written with the group.”

Each Saturday session will cost £6 (half goes to Emmaus Mossley) and the price includes a writing journal for each attendee.
