Christmas Gift ideas at the Reclamation Room
The Reclamation Room in Uppermill is not only a café but also hosts a wealth of creative events, workshops and photography sessions.
‘The Room’, as known to those that regularly visit, opened in November 2015. It is a vibrant creative space for all the community to enjoy. It’s a place to simply hang out, discover new skills, shop, browse or meet up with friends for a coffee or lunch in our open concept cafe. There is always something going on.
The venue, part or whole is also available to hire for a business meeting, workshop, private or public events, including business launches, exhibitions, group meetings, private parties, music events and even theatrical performances. They also have a range of gifts from prints, door knobs to stylish decorations.
Emma Givvons, owner of the Reclamation Room told Saddleworth News: “Although we’ve only been open for a couple of years, we already have a lovely crowd, with regular visitors of all ages, that say they love the whole vibe of the place.”
One of the creative experiences on offer over the year has been the Baby or Toddler of the year photography contest held every last Friday of the month. Jude of Jude Gidney Photography has been taking beautiful photographs of little ones that have either just dropped in for a coffee or seen the idea online.
As Christmas approaches, the last Friday this month will also include mini-sessions where the images can be used for gifts. A session including a free 9×6” Print is a small amount of £12.
Jude told Saddleworth News: “The photographs are really only very quick, unlike in the studio where I am able to get a better range of images, but often this is just right for little ones out with Mum, as they easily loose attention and are desperate to get back to their piece of toast! The Baby or Toddler contest has been successful and the winner of the years’ worth of photography sessions worth over £200, will be decided by public vote in December. “
If you want to book a mini- session go here.
The Reclamation Room can be found on Lee Street, Uppermill. OL3 6AE ( Shut Monday but open 9-5 otherwise)
