The Amateur Dram society is hosting a whisky tasting event at Diggle Band Club in support of the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team, who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

The event, which takes place on Saturday 4 October, allows people to try nine whiskies from around the world and enjoy a pie and peas supper, courtesy of the Little Saddleworth Pie Company.

Nick Watts, Amateur Dram society member and event organiser, said: “Whether you’re a whisky novice or fancy yourself as a connoisseur, everyone is welcome to attend and raise money for such a fantastic cause”.

Tickets are available for £23 to participate in the whisky tasting, £8.50 as a non-whisky option and the event will also see a charity raffle and auction take place.

Denzil Broadhurst from Oldham Mountain Rescue, said: “We’re delighted that the local society are raising money for us as we rely on donations in order to continue our important work in the community.”

For those wishing to attend, tickets are only available to purchase online via the Amateur Dram website: www.amateurdram.co.uk/ For further information contact Nick Watts on: 07712 881831
