A Little Bit Of Winter Sunshine In Saddleworth
As the temperatures lower, the clocks go back and Winter draws in there are few things that will tempt us from the telly but Greenfield’s Off The rails Comedy Club think they might have just what it takes with their October line ups…
If being a great cause was enough to sell out a show then Saturday 19th October would be sold out already! Off The Rails have teamed up with CRIBS International who do vital work with refugee families in a camp near Chalkida, Greece. Blackburn’s Tez Ilyas has been a fir favourite here for a while now but his recent Channel 4 show ‘The Tez O’Clock’ show has brought him a whole new following. Tez’s stand up is described by the Telegraph as “candyfloss with a razorblade inside: sweet and familiar at first, then shockingly, painfully sharp.” and we would say that’s pretty much on the money!
Another familiar face at Greenfield is vegan, dog owner, father of two, Batman fan, comedian, actor, writer, radio presenter and 2011 Celebrity Mastermind winner Justin Moorhouse who will be opening the show and Rob Riley comperes. . £15 on the door or £12 via the Off The Rails website with paper tickets at The Royal George soon.
Steve Gribbin has been a firm favourite at Off The Rails for two decades and we can’t wait to hear his new gags and scurrilous songs on Sunday 27th October. Now, that in itself would be cause for great celebration but Cockney comic and former football hooligan Eddy Brimson (“The crowd loved him” The Guardian) is here too alongside Chester’s Danny Mcloughlin and new act Sam Serrano! Tickets are £10 from the venue or the website.
Both the above take place at the Royal George, Manchester Road, Greenfield OL3 7HX and you can get full details at www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk or ring Rob on 07874 152 338
