Blues And Brass Concerts Coming Up At Diggle Band Club

The 2:19 Blues Band in action at the Hanging Gate during this year's Diggle Blues Festival.

If you can’t wait until next summer for the next Diggle Blues Festival, then there’s good news. The village Band Club will be hosting three blues concerts in the coming months.

On Saturday 3 September the Junkhouse Dog Blues Band will be playing, on Saturday 1 October it’s the turn of Blues Train, while on Saturday 5 November it’ll be Bad Back Blues. Admission to all of those concerts is free.

The shows follow June’s successful festival, the second such event, which featured ten gigs at venues including the Band Club and the Hanging Gate.

Past articles about the Diggle Blues Festival from Saddleworth News can be found here. The dates for the 2012 festival will be confirmed early next year.

Meanwhile, the Diggle Band has also told Saddleworth News about its next big concert at the band club, which will be taking place on Sunday 9 October at 7:30pm.

The theme will be Scottish music. The compere for the evening will be Gilbert Symes, and the band will be under the control of conductor James Shepherd.

These concerts usually sell out so it’s an idea to get your tickets sooner rather than later if you fancy doing. Priced £6, they’re available from the club itself, the Post Offices in Diggle and Uppermill, or from Dorothy on 01457 873937.
