Chilly Week Ahead With More Snow

A frozen stretch of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal yesterday. It's going to remain cold this week.

After a cold and snowy weekend, we can expect more of the same this week.

Today will be overcast but mostly dry, with temperatures struggling to get above 2C. Despite the cloud cover there’s a cold night ahead with air temperatures of -4C, and the Met Office says it’ll feel more like -7C.

Tomorrow should be the best day of the week with some sunshine and highs of 3C. But the snow should return between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and it’ll again feel very chilly overnight.

During the day on Wednesday and into Thursday there’s forecast to be more cloud cover with the odd snow shower. Temperatures aren’t likely to get much above 2C with overnight lows of about freezing.

Drove over from Holmfirth last night and the road was just passable, but with low cloud so thick that nothing could be seen away from the road on either side it was slow going.
