Diggle Suffer Cup Exit
Diggle are out of the Huddersfield and District Challenge Cup, following a narrow defeat away to near-neighbours Marsden. It finished 5-4 after extra time in yesterday’s second round match, with the West Riding League side winning through.
Also yesterday, Mossley were beaten 4-2 by FC Halifax Town in their Unibond League Division One North game at The Shay. Chris McDonagh and Andy Watson scored Mossley’s goals. In the Manchester League, Springhead won 3-2 away to Prestwich Heys. Springhead are 11th in the league, but have as many as six games in the hand on some of the teams around them.
Meanwhile, in rugby league, Saddleworth Rangers remain top of National Conference League Division 1, following a 34 points to six victory over Millom. Thatto Heath are still just a point behind with two games in hand though, after they beat Rochdale Mayfield 50-14.
