Do you know where this old telephone would have been located?

The phone was made in 1930 and has a brass "Uppermill" plaque.

The editor is asking for help from Saddleworth News readers to place the building that this 1930’s telephone would once have been housed.

The editor said: “It’s a railway phone, that much I do know, and an interesting piece of local history but not much more really, maybe some railway enthusiasts out there can help.”

It is thought it could have been used at the old Uppermill station or in a signal box, either before or after the Uppermill box. Or in the Uppermill signal box itself.

It was purchased off Ebay recently and any help would be appreciated.
