Dobcross residents invited to public meeting over village traffic issues

All Dobcross residents are invited to a public meeting in the village Band Club on Tuesday, July 28 at 7.30pm.

The meeting, has been organised by Dobcross Village Community executive committee, to discuss increased traffic through the village. Residents can attend and air their views on safety, speed, and how to discouraging traffic from using the village roads as a ‘rat run’.

Journalist Ken Bennett will chair the meeting and they expect senior Oldham Council executives to attend including, Michele Carr, Paul Groves and Oldham Council Cabinet member, Cllr Dave Hibbert.

MP, Debbie Abrahams will also be there along with Oldham councillors Nikki Kirkham, Derek Heffernan, Garth Harkness and Saddleworth Parish councillors Mike Buckley, Lesley Brown and Keith Lucas.

The meeting will examine issues of traffic management regardless of the site of the new Saddleworth Secondary School, or of any other further development in Diggle in particular.
