Dragon’s Den winning Mum2Mum Market welcomes a new Mum

Busy mum, Chelsea Maddocks, has recently taken over the reigns from Kelly Dronsfield of driving force behind the the ever successful Mum2Mum Markets in Oldham.

Chelsea is a mum of 3 children; a toddler of 2, and older 6 and 8 yr old. She’s a support worker for the elderly during the week and will be running the Market once a month on a Sunday in her spare time. She loved the sales herself after visiting and buying a few times, and decided she wanted to take over the franchise when it came up. She hopes for the whole family to get involved as the children have already helped out when she ran a stall of her own at one of the Royton Sales.

Chelsea has a lot of experience in retail so sees organising and managing the Mum2Mum Market as a small challenge. She lives in Gorton and would like to eventually take the Mum2Mum Market to her home ground in Denton.

Chelsea has already run her first sale at Oldham Academy North in Royton last week.

Chelsea told Saddleworth News and Life : “The market was attended by local families, parents-to-be, foster carers, childminders, grandparents and children who heard about our sale via social media, event listing sites, posters in the local community and most importantly, word of mouth! I saw lots of familiar faces from our Hollinwood sales and lots of new ones from the local area.

“I’m so pleased that Sunday’s sale was a success and it’s great that families can benefit from our sales. I’ve had emails and text messages from happy sellers and buyers which makes it so worth it!”

Chelsea said : “People should come to the Mum2Mum Markets so they can pick up a bargain, often getting them at 70% cheaper than the shops.  It’s all good stuff that they can pick up, and no need for postage that you’d pay if you bought online. The stalls are virtually full for the May Mum2Mum Market held at Oasis Academy, Hollinworth, but if they’re lucky they may still be able to grab one if they get in touch quickly.”

At the Mum2Mum Market in May there will be not only the usual bargains from nearly new stalls but also a fantastic cake stall, children’s boutique and hair bobbles and accessories to be had.

In her spare time Chelsea loves to take the children out to play areas, and on leaving the interview drove off to take the children for a sunny day in Blackpool. She loves Saddleworth for its hills and horses and hopes to get to know it better as she starts to work more in the Oldham area.
