Fire Destroys Diggle Bowling Club Hut

Arson is being blamed for a fire which ripped through the hut at Diggle Bowling Club last night. The building was completely destroyed.

According to the fire brigade, the blaze was reported just before half past ten. One fire crew from Oldham went to the scene, along with an engine from Ashton, and firefighters used water jets to put the blaze out.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue spokeswoman confirmed that the fire had been started deliberately. The police are now investigating.
