Six Skips In Place To Help Bin Collections

Oldham Council has left six skips around Saddleworth, so people who live in outlying areas can deposit their rubbish to be picked up. The skips were delivered to various locations yesterday morning.

They’re at Denshaw Village Hall, the Sam Road car park in Diggle, the junction of Oldham Road and The Sound in Delph, Bishops Park car park at Grains Bar, the bottom of Holmfirth Road in Greenfield, and the museum car park in Uppermill.

The scheme is designed to help people in remote properties, because bin lorries can’t get down some narrow lanes to make their usual collections because of the ice and snow.

The latest information from the council about gritting and other winter matters is available here.
