For the 100 – safety at University

Posted on behalf of Forthe100 campaign. Contains some sensitive content.

100 students take their own lives each year. “We need to hold universities accountable and protect students with a statutory duty of care.”

We’re like you: mums, dads, brothers, sisters, friends and families from all walks of life.

And, like you, we want students across the UK to be protected.

But not everybody is safe at university.

You might be thinking: students pay a lot of money to get a university education, and a commitment to act in a way that puts students first is included in the fees?

But you’d be wrong.

We believe that universities across the UK should be held accountable for their decisions.

We want the safety of our students to be a ‘legal must’. It is not negotiable! We want to tell the Government it’s time to act.

We want to put a stop to students being treated as if they don’t matter. We want to give university students the same rights to protection from harm that workers have.

That’s why we’re fighting.

Fighting for those who have taken their own lives and those who’re thinking about it, too. (See video below)

Fighting for those psychologically harmed by their universities.

Fighting #ForThe100 and for the 100s of others who suffer from the poor decisions universities make.

So far only 142 people in the Saddleworth and East Oldham area have signed the petition, help the cause reach parliament and get it discussed.

Let’s help this cause.
