Help with getting prescriptions from Dovestone WI
In a great show of community spirit during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dovestone WI are offering their help to ensure those vulnerable of isolated in our community have help with getting any medications they need.
Dovestone W.I. has been in contact with all local chemists across the area to offer a volunteer collection & delivery service to get prescriptions out to those who are elderly, at risk, diabetic and those who are having to self-isolate.
Janet, secretary of Dovestone WI, said “We can get some volunteers dispatched and boots on the ground ASAP. It will also minimise the exposure to others that are queuing in a chemist, who may be poorly.
“Staff can just whizz it’s outside to waiting delivery car! The independent chemists are happy to use this help, however the WELL chain of chemists and Lloyd’s have understandable and obvious company rules put in place which does not allow volunteers due to insurance, health and safety etc.”
If you have a prescription needing collecting and dropping off on your doorstep and the chemist can’t get it out to you as quickly as you need it, contact Dovestone WI via Facebook or email Janet (hello@dovestonewi.com). You are advised then to contact the chemist to let them know you’ve arranged a collection – if you pay for your prescription, pay for it by card over the phone (if possible) and then leave it to Dovestone WI to get the job done.
