Let Joanna entertain your birthday girls and put your feet up

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with Joanna Leach, a  local mum who’s setting out on a dream to bring a dream party to your children. Over a cup of coffee, here’s what we chatted about:

Please tell us a little about yourself

My name is Joanna Leach, I’m 28, a wife and a proud mum of 3 beautiful boys.

Tell us more about what you’re up to

I have recently set up a small business called Jojo’s Parties, which is aimed at taking the stress away from parents by offering not just the party packages but food, banners, balloons, even down to the plates and napkins, so they can sit back and watch their little princess and her friends enjoy the birthday party. I have created 4 different packages which are based on different interests to the birthday girl, (princess, pamper, diva and pop), however, I can also customised the party to the birthday girls needs.
The food is an afternoon tea themed set up, making the day that extra bit special and making their little girl feel like a real princess for the day.

What made you decide to run parties? 

I decided to set up this business as living in a house with 3 sons and a husband I’m feeling quiet outnumbered, and have always enjoyed the girly things, doing hair, nails etc. I love seeing the look on the girls faces when they get the treatment of a princess for a day.

Where can a birthday girl have a party? 

I’m based at Browns Hair Co on Huddersfield road, where the parties are run in a large well equipped room. Otherwise, I can also organise a party at a venue of a parent’s request, perhaps at their home or a local church hall for instance.

We know you are local, where in the area do you live and what do you love about it?

I live in Moorside and love the area I live in, due to all the places near by to go walking, local parks, and the fact that I live so close to my extended family.

What’s shocked you recently?

I have 3 young boys, a 4yr old and a set of identical twins who are 20 months old. The twins were a complete surprise to us as twins don’t run in our family. We’re still in shock but they really are beautiful.
