Local Online Festival raises hundreds for local MIND

As 2021 dawned, it was just the seed of an idea. After 5 weeks of intense work, this weekend’s Thrive Hive Fest has just ended. What a triumph! I have been so humbled by the support of artists, promoters and attendees – the response has been amazing and I’m so proud of myself and all the artists involved.

Mission accomplished?

Let’s review Thrive Hive Fest’s missions:

1. Raise lockdown spirits – DONE!

2. Raise awareness of mental health issues – DONE!

3. Raise money for my local branch of Mind, the mental health charity – DONE!

Great feedback

Despite tech glitches and multiple errors on my part during Day 1 (sorry!), the weekend has been a tremendous success! THIRTY fantastic musicians, poets and more sharing their wonderful gifts with over 100 attendees who, judging by the comments on the live stream and the lovely messages that folk have sent to me, really loved watching the live-streamed festival.

“So, this is my elated-and-exhausted face…tinged with pride, humility, inspiration, disbelief and excitement.”

How much did we raise?

Thanks to you, we have raised over £900 raised for Tameside, Oldham & Glossop Mind. Every penny raised will go to their Emergency Coronavirus fund to support better mental health during this pandemic.

Thank you!

WHAT A FANTASTIC EVENT filled with superb talent and love!

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it such a beautiful occasion.

Tell your friends!
It’s not too late to buy tickets. Please tell your friends – they will be able to watch the whole festival back at their leisure. Every ticket sold raises more much-needed funds for Mind…

What’s next?
Shall we do this again? I’m not committing to anything yet…but I’d love to…although right now I need a rest and would need more help if there is a next time.

Please keep talking about mental health. Please look after yourselves and those around you.
