Here are some more images of the fire which broke out above Uppermill overnight. Firefighters had been at the scene damping the blaze down for several hours when it flared up again at about lunchtime.

One square mile of moorland around Ladcastle Road and Den Lane was affected, and at the height of the blaze a total of six fire engines were at the scene.

Thankfully some rain arrived in the late afternoon and early evening to help the firefighters out. Nobody was injured, but some cats from the nearby kennels had a dramatic escape!
