Mossley Caretaker Begins With Draw
There was a goalless start to the tenure of Mossley’s new caretaker manager on Saturday. Gareth McClelland watched his team draw 0-0 with Woodley Sports at Seel Park.
Previous manager Shaun Higgins left the club last week following a run of ten defeats in 11 matches in the Evo Stik League Division One North. Saturday’s point leaves Mossley 17th in the 23-team table, which you can see here.

Elsewhere, Uppermill went out of the Barlow Cup last week, after losing their quarter-final to Newsome on penalties following a 2-2 draw.
Fellow Huddersfield League side Diggle lost 3-0 to Hepworth in a league game on Saturday. The table and results can be viewed here.
In the Manchester League, Springhead went down 4-3 at home to East Manchester, a result that leaves them 11th in the table, as shown here.
Meanwhile, in rugby league’s National Conference League Premier Division, Saddleworth Rangers continued their improved form with a 35-12 win over bottom side York Acorn. Saddleworth are now 8th in the table, and there’s more information at the league website here.
