Mossley Continue League Struggle

Mossley have been back in league action over the past week, but were only able to take one point from their two matches. They’re third bottom of the Evo Stik League Division One North, although they’ve got plenty of games in hand on the teams around them.

Last Tuesday, Mossley were held to a 1-1 draw away at Ossett Albion. Steve Settle scored Mossley’s goal, while Chris Rowney was sent off. Then on Saturday Mossley were soundly beaten 3-0 at league leaders Chester. They were Mossley’s first league games since the end of September, as they remarkably went through all of last month playing only cup ties.

You can read reports at the Mossley website here and here, while more details about the league are available here.

The only other local side in action at the weekend was Diggle. They lost 2-0 to Cumberworth at Churchill Playing Fields, leaving them 3rd in the Huddersfield League. Uppermill, who didn’t play, are 8th, as you can see from the table here.
