Plans for Mossley Light Switch-On
The Mossley Lights Switch-On will take place this year on Saturday November 24th at with activities on the market ground from 4 PM.
Alongside the talent on the stage, fairground rides and stalls on the Market Place, the centrepiece will be ‘The 12 Days of Mossley’ – an illuminated installation providing a light-hearted celebration of all things Mossley.
Mossley schools and local community groups will create the show and you are invited to sing-a-long to a well-known seasonal tune with alternative words involving brass bands, Santa, clog dancers, singing divas and illuminated chips amongst other such delights!
There will not be a large light parade this year due to Global Grooves losing 5 years of creative work in a devastating fire. They are on the road to recovery and hope to be back in 2019! We know the Mossley spirit will shine through and people of all ages will join us to welcome another festive season.
The event will be funded and organised by Mossley Town Council. Their partners will be Marvellous Mossley; Global Grooves; Mossley Sports Forum and local artists from The Vale.
Please support this event and look out for the school-based lantern workshops and three open workshops across the town in October and November.
