New Saddleworth Company Aims To Help Pet Owners

A new Saddleworth business is offering a much-needed range of products and services to pet owners. GGL Pet Supplies and Services, based in Dobcross, sells a variety of goods for four-legged friends as well as birds and fish, and also provides a service looking after pets whilst their owners are away.

Founded by Gillian Linnell earlier this year, the service offers dog walking, home visits for cats, rabbits, small animals and fish.

Gillian has looked after cats for as long as she can remember and has owned a dog and horse for eight years. Her love for animals was where her original idea to be self-employed, selling pet supplies and services came from.

Gillian left her full time job of 12 years to stay at home and look after her mother, who has advanced Parkinson’s disease. Being out of a job, Gillian needed to find a way which she could look after her mother and pay the mortgage and bills. That was when she decided to set up GGL.

The animal-sitting service includes daily visits whereby pets can be fed, have their litter cleaned, and be taken on walks. Most importantly pets will be given love and care. Gillian is insured, CRB checked and trained in basic pet first aid.
