Police are continuing to appeal for information after a man was seriously injured in a collision in Saddleworth.

At 5.40pm on Saturday 7 March 2015, a grey VW Polo was in collision with two other vehicles near the car park on Standedge Cutting for the Pennine Way.

The VW Polo was travelling towards Huddersfield on the A62 (Standedge Cutting) near Diggle behind a black Mercedes C220 when the collision happened. A blue Vauxhall Astra, also involved in the collision, was travelling in the opposite direction towards Oldham.

The driver of the VW Polo, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital by air ambulance. He remains in a serious condition.

Police Constable Sandra Turnball said: “The driver of the VW Polo remains in a serious condition and we are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

“The area is well used by walkers and dog walkers and so I am making a further appeal to those people who may have either witnessed the collision itself or who saw any of the vehicles involved in the moments beforehand to come forward and speak to us.

“We are particularly keen to trace any CCTV, including any ‘dash cam’ footage which may assist in our understanding of what happened.”

Anyone with information should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741.
