Saddleworth News TV – Debbie Abrahams Interview
Our new MP, Debbie Abrahams, has told Saddleworth News all about her first few weeks in office. In a video interview recorded in Uppermill, she also talked about the issues she’s been working on since she was elected in January.
Ms Abrahams used the interview to reveal she’s already written to the Transport Secretary about overcrowding and the price of tickets on the Manchester to Huddersfield rail line. She also spoke about her opposition to the government’s planned NHS reforms, and gave her views on the £41m of cuts made in the budget recently passed by Oldham Council.
She added that MPs from all sides of the House of Commons had been “incredibly welcoming” to her so far, and said: “Every day I go in and think – wow – what an honour, what a privilege.”

The film was made by media students from The Oldham College with their tutor John Eccles. We hope you enjoy it!
