The Happy Bump Club

A new group for mums has been created by local new mum Emma Kenyon. Emma told me:

I am first time mum to Daisy who was born in October 2020, and spent most of my pregnancy in lockdown and restrictions. I moved to the area in September 2019 and thought I would be able to make some new friends by joining an antenatal class or a pregnancy group, but then pandemic struck and these were all cancelled. Luckily I had a friend who was also pregnant at the same time, so we shared information and advice with each other. However, I really missed not being able to meet other pregnant women in the area, and so once Daisy arrived, I thought it would be a good idea to start a local pregnancy support group, something that I would have really enjoyed.

Our group is called The Happy Bump Club and is a new support group for local pregnant women in the Oldham and Tameside area. The group will be held on the last Sunday of each month at Mossley Community Centre at 11am, lasting approx 1 hour.

It is an informal group and is a chance for mums-to-be in the area to meet other pregnant women, share advice, information and tips. There will also be a book swap as well as guest speakers at each session, including midwives, health visitors, and other local maternity services.

It is free to attend, and more information can be found on our Facebook and Instagram accounts by searching: The Happy Bump Club or clicking here .
