Toddler Bodie loves Peppa Pig but hates cancer

Reporter: Judith Grinter

Bodie McNulty loves Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom but is fighting hard against a brain tumour.

The two year old has a Grade 3 Anaplastic Posterior Fossa Ependymoma (Cancerous brain tumour) and has endured 12 months of Chemotherapy and 3 debulking surgeries at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.  Her next step for treatment is radiotherapy and the NHS will not fund her case for Proton Beam Therapy but will fully support the little family, from Milnrow, in self-funding the treatment.

Her illness and the treatment given to her means she is developmentally delayed, she still cannot walk and can only say a few words, she has been going through various treatments throughout the last 14 months (chemotherapy and surgeries). For the first year of that 14 months we

were staying at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital every other week.

The treatment will take up to 3 months abroad, which may mean that Bodie’s Dad Kevin has had to leave his self employed work as a Tattoo Artist in Royton,

Bodie’s Mum Lauren told Saddleworth News and Life: ‘We are looking for help in sharing her story with a wider audience and have set up a just giving page to help us reach our target and get her the life-saving treatment she needs overseas.’

Please give the page a look and find out how you can give the family some support – Fundraising for Bodie
