Twestival Raised £1,000 For Mountain Rescue
The organisers of the first-ever Twestival Oldham have announced that it raised more than £1,000 for the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team.
Two main fundraising events took place on the same day in March, one a family-friendly occasion at Earl Mill, the other an evening function at Boundary Park.
Oldham joined about 160 towns and cities across the world in taking part in Twestival, a global charity movement inspired by users of information-sharing website Twitter.
The final total from Twestival Oldham was £1,002.08, all of which went to the Uppermill-based rescue team’s equipment and vehicles fund.
Deborah Wroe and Liz Lancashire of Owl Marketing took the lead in putting Twestival Oldham together, and you can read more at their website here.
For their next fundraising challenge, they’re organising a summer picnic in Denshaw on Saturday 9 July, in aid of the local Scouts. To get more details about what they’re calling an #ehup read a Saddleworth News article here.
