Uppermill FC To Hold Summer Fundraiser
A hot summer soul night in aid of Uppermill Football Club will be taking place at the Civic Hall on Saturday 25 June.
There’ll be a meal, live entertainment and a disco, and the event will begin at 7pm for 7:30pm. Tickets priced £20 can be bought from Graham Hill on 07745 055295, or Pam Preston on 07890 260263.
Meanwhile, the club will also be holding its AGM next month. It’s scheduled for Wednesday 15 June at Uppermill Sports Club at 7pm, and anyone is welcome to go along.
As for Uppermill’s fortunes on the pitch, it seems as though the season may now be over for the First Team. Their most recent fixture, against Lepton Highlanders, was called off when Lepton couldn’t raise a side, so the points were awarded to Uppermill.
There’s still one match outstanding, the game against Shepley which was abandoned when Uppermill’s Tom Cunningham suffered a broken leg. According to the club, there’s still no official word from the Huddersfield League as to if or when that match will be replayed.
