Shops in Uppermill raised a total of £413.90 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in their recent Saddleworth Scrumptious Selection offer. With the support of charity patron and Grasscroft-based actor John Henshaw, the campaign featured local businesses giving some of the profits from special products to the charity.

Dr Kershaw’s fundraisers say even though the promotion has come to an end, the shops will continue to support them. Sweet Memories of Saddleworth is going to carry on selling its Kershaw Mix, with 100% of the profits going to the hospice.

Meanwhile, Kickin Kershaw sausages are still going to be available at Paul’s Quality Meats, while Chutney’s Deli and Buckley’s the baker are going to carry on selling jute bags in aid of Dr Kershaw’s.

Last but not least, cupcake shop A Spoonfull Of Sugar will also be continuing with its backing for the hospice, and plans to hold a Go Yellow fundraising day next spring.

You can get more information in a press statement from the hospice here.
