Hi all,

December was another wet month but it did end on a slightly drier and milder note. The questions on everyone’s lips are, ‘When will winter start?’ and ‘Where’s our snow?’. The wait continues…..

Thursday: Windy with a band of rain followed by the odd shower. Remaining mostly cloudy. Winds easing later. Max 9°C

Friday: A cold start with some patchy frost likely. A dry day with sunny spells. The breeze picking up later and cloud thickening. Cooler. Max 7°C

Weekend: Topsy-turvy temperatures and windy.

Saturday: A cloudy dry start then rain arriving from the west later. Very mild with strong southwesterly winds which will be gusting to 40mph. Warning in place for the wind. Max 11°C

Sunday: Early morning rain clears to fresher and cooler air from the west or northwest. Sunny spells and showers possible, perhaps wintry on the hills, but generally drying up during the day. Feeling colder. Windy but easing later. Max 7°C

Outlook: Temperatures still above average with some spells of rain and windy conditions from the Atlantic. Winter’s snow and bitter cold remains locked away.
