Dementia Friends invite public to cricket club debate

Local Dementia Friends champion, Helen Morris, who has completed many Dementia Friends Information Sessions has expressed her thanks to the Austerlands and Scouthead Community Association, for inviting her to join them at a future meeting.

Helen told Saddleworth News: “This is better than holding a public meeting, because a group of committed people with no particular interest in dementia, will have the opportunity to contribute to debates on difficult areas and share the experience of living with dementia.”

The meeting will take place at Austerlands Cricket Club – on the evening of September 3 from 7.30 pm.

The public are welcome to join the group for this session and places can be booked on www.dementiafriends.org.uk or people can just turn up on the night.

Helen is hoping to secure a similar arrangement with associations in Grotton, Springhead, Lydgate & Grasscroft to deliver the last of her village sessions.
