Emmaus to celebrate its 20yrs in Mossley

Homelessness charity Emmaus Mossley will hold a day-long community event next weekend to celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

The ‘20th Birthday Bash’ will take place on Saturday 16 September and mark 20 years since the opening of the Emmaus Mossley community building at Longlands Mill. Over the years the community has grown and it is now home to 26 companions – formerly homeless people who live and work at Emmaus Mossley.

The event will include special guests, live music, DJs, food stalls, vintage sale, raffle, charity auction and much more throughout the day. One of the special guests attending will be Terry Waite CBE, President of Emmaus UK.

Speaking about the event Terry said: “I am very much looking forward to visiting Emmaus Mossley again, a community with which I have very fond memories of since its early beginnings in 1997. Their twentieth anniversary event in September will be a great celebration for all the community to enjoy and I look forward to meeting old friends and supporters of Emmaus.”Terry Waite Saddleworth news
