Forthcoming Parish Council Chairman’s Charity Events

Three events to raise money for the Saddleworth Parish Council Chairman’s chosen charities are taking place in July.

The first is this Saturday in Delph, a coffee morning in the church hall on Gartside Street, starting at 10am.

A week on Friday, 8 July, is the Chairman’s Summer Ball at Uppermill Civic Hall. That begins at 7:30pm, and tickets priced £15 are available from the council directly on 01457 87665, or from Uppermill Post Office. There’ll be live music and a buffet.

Then, on Thursday 21 July, there’ll be a strawberry tea and tombola shower at the Civic Hall between 2pm and 4pm. It’s free to get in, but anyone going along will be asked to donate something to the tombola or raffle, to help raise money.

This year’s Chairman, Cllr Bill Cullen, has selected three main charities for his 12 months in office, which fund research into multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and osteo-arthritis.

You can read more about those good causes in a Saddleworth News interview with him from last month, which can be found here.
