Yes it is going to be available on Freeview from next month, which makes it all the more ironic GMG decided to pull the plug now. People can only get it at the moment by hunting through the Sky EPG all the way to channel 203. That Freeview place should make it more attractive to potential buyers, which I imagine is why GMG is keeping it going albeit without any proper programmes. There have been longstanding rumours that Manchester City were interested in buying it to create an MCTV, but that idea seems to have gone off the boil.
John M – Thank you for reading the site, and thank you for your comment. As you can see I’ve struck the story out, and apologised for and corrected the error.
However, you appear to have slightly misread the original text, because at no point did I suggest that money had been stolen from the box in Oldham Council reception.
I also have to take issue with your last remarks. Implying that this post on Saddleworth News will “no doubt” be responsible for Macmillan boxes being “removed across the country” seems more than a little far-fetched, I’m afraid.
Thanks Fiona, have updated the credit.
Thanks for posting the photo. Have changed that spelling now too! Richard.
No problem Nicola, hope it all goes well.
Richard
