SkyRide local run by British Cycling have an easy ride coming up this Sunday at 10am around Dovestones Reservoir.

It takes in all three reservoirs, is only 6 miles, is open to anybody of all abilities and is a nice easy paced ride. These are organised rides and this is the first time this area has been included on the schedule for SkyRide local.

Julie Mulholland, who has lived in Diggle for many years and is a volunteer rider, has helped to map this route so it can be added to this years programme.

Julie told Saddleworth News: “I would love it to be a success and encourage as many people as possible to re-visit the area.

“To participate all you need to do is visit goskyride.com, register and book yourself on the ride then turn up at 10am as per the ride instructions.

“The name of the ride is ‘Oldham – Wildlife and Wilderness – 6 Miler’ and is run by friendly cycling volunteers.”
